A Quote from Grey's Anatomy

We rely on superstitions because we're smart enough to know we don't have all the answers. And that life works in mysterious ways.

美味關係

剛剛在吃義大利麵的時候,突然想起之前在學校附近餐廳裡的牆上看到的一段文字:
在美味的料理中
我們找到
情人
朋友
家人
一起在餐桌上
相聚的
千百種理由

Nothing Worth Having Comes Easy

Howie Day's 【Collide】 is such a great song. It reminds me of a clip in 【Scrubs】.

[Excerpt]

Dr. Kelso: Life is scary. Get used to it.
Dr. Kelso: There are no magical fixes. It's all up to you. So get up off your keister, get out of here, and go start doing the work.

Q: What if it's too hard?
Dr. Kelso: Nothing in this world that's worth having comes easy.

Narration: You can never truly capture the past.
Narration: You still have to try, though. Because as a recently incarcerated doctor once said, "Nothing worth having comes easy."

Addiction ‧ Indulgence

Recent articles show that Multitasking, Internet Addiction, and Internet Seeking could be dangerous and harmful to our brains. I was terrified. I have exactly same symptoms as described. "Searching for information you don't even care about", "chatting via instant messaging while checking email and surfing the Web", and "being anxious without Internet". Those are pretty much my daily life. (In some sense those articles were kind of entertaining while I was being terrified.)

In one episode of 【Grey's Anatomy】 about addiction, a remark goes like this
Bad habit comes easily but hard to be kicked away.
I think the hardest part of kicking a habit is wanting to kick it. I mean, we get addicted for a reason, right?
They say you don't kick the habit until you hit rock bottom. But how do you know when you are there?
Indeed.

Addiction is bad. But indulging oneself in an addiction is even worse.

Chinese Democracy

"Chinese Democracy" is used to mean something that is long promised but will never happen.

E.g., "That marriage proposal is totally Chinese Democracy. Move on, girl."
